We are now in High Street and this shows the Church of England Primary School, it was built in 1914 as an all-age mixed, Council School.
It was re organised as a Secondary Modern school for the area in 1947. The school buildings were extended in 1955 and three years later nine and a half acres of land was purchased by the County Council for a playing field.
The building was further extended in 1959 and a canteen added, then in 1965, a swimming pool was made.
In 1970 the scholars were moved to a Comprehensive school at Daventry and the children from the Church school in School Street took their place.
Later a Nursery Unit was added and in 1998 the school was even further extended.
