Woodford Halse

Walk : WAW 107

This is the present post office. At one time it was a butchers shop; the little slaughterhouse is still standing at the bottom of the garden.

Later, it became the showroom and office for the East Midlands Electricity Board, who vacated the premises in 1968.

The shop was then carried on by an electrical contractor for some years, then the post office came from across the road and a free standing pillar box was installed in 1998.
