And this is Farndon Mill of many years ago.

It was built in 1685 it is said, to grind the corn of local farmers and is now a private dwelling.

When it ceased to grind for flour is not known, but it was bought by the L.N.E.R. c. 1934.

It was bought by the railway company to extinguish the payment of eighty pounds a year, for the right to use the water at the railway depot, which the mill owners contended, should have come down to them to drive their mill.

The living quarters for the miller and his family were at the near end of the building and the machinery for the mill at the far end.
