Woodford Halse

Walk : WAW 053

Proceeding through the rather narrow stretch of road, the Eydon to West Farndon Road is reached.

Turning sharp right, the top of Barnetts Hill is soon reached and one of the few larch trees in the area can be seen.

The larch is the only European conifer to shed its leaves annually; the young female cones are reddish, rather attractive and flower-like.

The timber is said to be stronger than timber from most conifers.
