Woodford Halse

Walk : WAW 016

A motor vehicle repair shop was next door to the Headmaster’s House.

Until 1952 it was a grocers shop owned by a Mr. Gostick, it caught fire on 17th February that year and was almost completely demolished.

It was rebuilt and opened again as a grocers shop, but on the death of the owner, the shop closed and it was eventually opened for motor repairs.

By kind permission of Jim Anscomb, Miss Rachel Watson, Mrs Yvonne Roberts and Mrs P H Edwards
